I think you will find a lot of CW operators are also musical.
It is pretty easy to memorize a little over 40 sounds when you have spent years memorizing complex musical patterns and songs.
I've lived through the "my gig's better than your's" flaps over AM, SSB, Packet, SSTV etc etc and will make it through this one.
The great thing about ham radio is that it has something for everyone. When I lived in an apartment and didn't operate, I just listened and built stuff. Over the years I've tried all phases. It is like golf, there is always something to keep you interested.
CW and music remain in my top ten and always will. A child is still out there that will light up being able to copy CW, we just have to keep setting the fires.
