Are you sure Glen? An SB 200 uses a pair of 829B tubes. I've been told you
can't put a pair of 811 tubes in there because the power supply is too much
for 811s. On the other hand, a Collins 30L1 uses four 811 tubes and many
hams have put in two 829B tubes in place of the four 811s and they report
the 30L1 purrs like a kitten, hardly knowing the 829B tubes are there.. and
they last practically forever.

Don't you mean the other way around?
A pair of 811 tubes can take a whole lot more power
than an 829B. The plates in an 829B would melt long
before those in the 811s.
