oh man... I was talking about the stinch when selenium rectifiers burned 
just the other day... like sulfur burning, or rotten eggs...

I'll NEVER forget the smell. 

I have an OLD tube tester that has seleniums in it and when I turned it 
on, the caps were bad, shorted and at least one of the seleniums began 
to SMELL... it brought back OLD memories... 
They say that smell is one sense that is remembered best...   well, I
