Glen and Group...How do you tell which 101 you have??? Mine is not
marked in any way
Except SX101. I have seen different so called Mark I mark III that also
had only SX101
Marked on them. I have never seen an SX101A. Mine has 160 meters on it.
Best receiver I have ever had...

The Hallicrafters SX-101A does not have 160 meters but
does have the 30.5 MHz to 34.5 MHz range for VHF
converters.

The original SX-101 and the versions through the
SX-101 Mark III do have 160 meters.  However, the
SX-101 Mark IIIA and SX-101A do not.  Both of those
receivers do have the VHF converter range.

Of course you "caught" the "gold plated" NCX-5!
