This is a WW2-era "Comfort Radio" as supplied by U.S. Military 
to personnel in Europe.

ECHOPHONE COMMERCIAL EC-1 - Shortwave Receiver. 
Here is an excellent example of this WW2-era SW broadcast 
receiver.
One of the nicest you will find. Only the back cover shows any age.
The front panel looks like new, with all original knobs, and no 
modifications.
Has BFO, stand-by switch, volume controls and built-in speaker.
This set has nice bandspread tuning and main tuning dial with 
reduction drive.
Also - switchable between speaker and headphones. 
Covers 3 bands 550 kc. to 30 Mc.
