Protecting signal generator output from feedback damage

Hello, I'm looking for any info on how to protect the output of solid state designed signal 
  generators like whats used in HP eqiupment such as the 8640 series, 8620 series, and
  the 8660 series signal generators. It's called REVERSE POWER PROTECTION.
