Is there a "National AM Simplex Frequency on 2 Meters?

Mike - the National AM calling frequency for 2 meters is 144.450
MHz. A great many guys use this calling frequency because
FT243 crystals for that frequency are readily available.
Most rigs use a crystal on 8025 kHz and thousands of them
are in use. These multiply X 18 in the popular commercial
and typical homebrew AM transmitters.
I hope all of the "band planners" at ARRL and other radio clubs
are staying aware of this VHF AM community and their
operating habits! VHF AM is also very poipular again in
the U.K. and in Europe these days.
I have those crystals available for sale if anyone needs them.
I also have some other frequencies close by, in the 8000 to 8050
kHz range.
