Using NTC Resistors as Inrush Current Protectors

There is one problem with NTC resistors for inrush protection. The first time you turn on the equipment the NTC works fine, but then if you turn the radio off and back on before the NTC resistor cools down, you lose part, or all of your protection. This is why some people still use the old series resistor with a time delay relay to short it out method.

That said, I use NTC resistors myself. Low, simple and easy protection.
