OT: a note on RF design simulators such as the ARRL Radio Designer

There was considerable interest in the copy of ARRL Radio Designer I
was/am giving away and that got me to do some checking on the ARRL
website to find out the latest on that program. Take a look at the
following page:

And further take a look at the ARRL recommendation for a more modern
(and free) equivalent - i.e. a student version of Ansoft Serenade
(which I guess is now called Ansoft Designer SV):
<http://www.ansoft.com/downloads.cfm>.
Another very nice (and free) circuit simulator is Linear Technologies
'LT Spice' (or Switcher CAD). That is what I use today for my fooling
around.
