Johnson Viking Challenger - Mods & Tweaks?

I acquired a Johnson Viking Challenger in good shape, and it 
works.
It needs one 6DQ6A final and the cabinet needs fresh paint 
but the
faceplate and internals are reasonably clean.

I have the manual from BAMA but am looking for any mods and
tweaks that may be out there.

I have an old tube-type mobile CB chassis with a dual AC/DC
power supply I can use for my Elmac PMR-6A and a 6M receive
converter, as well as powering a VFO.  I am thinking of 
building
the VFO into that old chassis along with a BFO for the Elmac.
The old CB also provides a SWR meter for my Elmac.
