Heath knobs

I am in the process of making new molds for the replacement knobs that I make for the older Heath equipment and I "discovered" something that I hadn't realized before. In some of the DX-100 transmitters the VFO knob is weighted unlike the other large knobs which makes the tuning a little bit "smoother". I hadn't had to remove the VFO knob from my present DX-100 so I hadn't noticed the weight difference. But, since the DX-100 was the easiest item to remove the knobs for making new molds I removed them to use.
I did check both of my VF-1 VFOs (one early version and one late version - the difference is in the front panel layout) and both of them have the "regular" (unweighted) knobs. I don't remember if my original DX-100 (that I got used in 1960 and gave away in the mid 1970s) had a weighted knob or not.
I thought that I knew a lot about the DX-100 series but the weighted VFO knob is definitely a "new one" on me!
