[Milsurplus] can anyone id the radio used on this clipper?

Like United Airlines, Pan Am evidently had its own radio development 
laboratory.  There's an interesting article at 
http://www.oldbeacon.com/beacon/pan_american_radio_1929.htm that seems 
to indicate they were still using the same old late 1920's style dials 
in the 1939 Boeing 314.
