[Boatanchors] Collins KWM 2a question

There are crystals for 80, 40, 20, and 15 "from the factory". However, Collins only supplied a single 10 meter crystal for 28.5 MHz to 28.7 MHz which was the bottom end of the "phone" portion when the units were new.

In the KWM-2A there are a total of 5 additional crystal positions available which add 1000 kHz. In the KWM-2 there are only 2 additional positions which add 400 kHz.

There is a list of crystals and what segments each covers in the manual.

The unit will work, with appropriate crystal selection, on the WARC bands. Also, although Collins originally said not to use the 5.0 MHz to 6.5 MHz segment they later retracted that. There are certain frequencies in that segment to be avoided. However, the 5 "channels" in the 60-meter band are in the authorized frequency range.

If all of the crystals are in there it should cover most of the ham bands from 80-10 meters
