[Boatanchors] An S-38 with FOUR Knobs???

Definitely not original!  Someone has replaced the slide switch with a rotary switch.  The lettering for the slide switch is still there per the original and the screws that held the slide switch in place are still there.  Those screws were horizontal whereas the other screws for the various controls are in a vertical line.  Take a look at

and you will see that the knob has been added.
