I suspect my experience is more typical. Put the mags in a box, take it to 
the PO and ask for appropriate postage. If the clerk asks for the contents, 
answer truthfully "technical journals". Pay your $3 rate, or whatever it 
is, thank the clerk and walk away.   Consider it an example of the 
occasional difference between theory and practice :-)
