[Boatanchors] 455 kHz crystal - new $15.00 (eBay)

Too espensive.
Would it be OK to use one of these to run a few KW, so I could get right into a bunch of IFs?
Then I could talk to a lot of people at once.  They wouldn't even have to tune around for me!
Of course they would all be boatanchor people, since we are about the only ones left with 455KHz IFs.
