[Boatanchors] Questions: TV-7 A/U Tube Tester

Hello All,

A bit of background here:

I came across the front panel + chassis + lid of a TV-7 A/U tester this past summer. After patting myself on the back for the lucky find, I spend the next few hours rummaging around the same storage area for the box portion of the tester. No luck there. Still, not too bad - especially since it had the 83 tube and the internals were just dusty with no mouse nibbles or anything like that.

Fast forward to today where a local odd-jobber found a TV-7 A/U during a clean-out job in a house and put it up for sale on Craigslist. It followed me home and I am in the process of wiping it down and getting rid of the grime on the front panel. The internals look really clean on this one as well, although the case looks terrible. Unfortunately this one has a 5Z3 in place of the 83.

Here are the questions of the day:

1. Does anyone have the bottom case or an entire case for a TV-7 tester they would like to part with?

2. Any comments/suggestions out there for a TV-7 expert for refurb and calibration?

3. Anyone have an 83 tube for a reasonable cost?

My plan is to get both sets up and running properly and then sell one to offset the associated costs.

Thank you all in advance for any helpful comments and advice you may have.

Best Regards and Happy New Year,

William
