[Boatanchors] 12AX7 Pencil/Subminiature Sub?

Might a pair of CK5672 or CK6612 or other subminiature
"pencil" tubes be substituted for a 12AX7 in a Q-multiplier
circuit like the Heath QF-1/HD-11/QD-125 design?

It would make retrofitting a boatanchor receiver easier
without the added hassle of an outboard Q-mult.
