[Boatanchors] Preselector & Elmac PMR-6a?

Would a preselector make enough of a difference
used with an Elmac PMR-6a to be bothered with?

Added selectivity and low-noise sensitivity
would be the intended goal - used in a fixed
rather than original-design mobile setting.
