[Boatanchors] Pactor on Sailing boats

Hi, as said I tried to make a clear distinction
that it was my personal experience of several
years working marine electronics in the
Caribbean, I've done work on anything between
rinky dinky power and saling boats all the way up
to huge megayachts. I really don't know what the
situation is in the US waters. I don't think this
is being done here on ham bands, but rather on
marine frequencies, in and around 8-9MHz USB, if
I am not mistaken. Also, these modems are still
being used to download weather charts, which I
doubt are on ham bands. But again, it is possible
some operators do use Pactor email on the ham
bands, but again, maybe only 1% of the (small
sailing) boats has it, and I've seen a LOT of
boats in the time I've been doing this.
