Folks, Thanks to William Morton who saw my plea this morning and sent me the
following info which did answer my question about the 426A. We hope this
helps others with similar inquiries.

I found this, but the '426A' within the document had other letters at the
end as well (e.g. 426A A, 426A E, etc.). Is the label only 426A with no
other character?

It is for solid state devices.
On page 73, the 426A A is listed as "Variable capacitance diode, C =' 900 pf
@ VR 1. 0 Vdc"

The 426 type of diode is listed as "Med Power Si Diffused Junction", with a
rating of "1/2 - 2 Watts", but no details specs were seen.
