Hi Karl,
That is a tough one. Painted mine with good silver spray to keep out the
UV which makes the plastic brittle. A hail storm broke the 4001 I had to
bits. Lighting wiped out the rest-Boo! The 5001 isn't finished yet as
have been dragging feet. Been restoring a bunch of Heathkits since
retirement. For the part, try Questech Inc. at (248) 615-9963 if they
are in business. They were selling the 5001 after Heathkit went down the
toilet. The price was a bit much. You might think of replicating them in
metal of the same dimensions. Mabey a company can make them out of
plastic. A lot of folks are looking for those. Good luck 73 and let me
