<font face="Courier New, Courier">Hello Everyone:<br>
<br>
As many of you know last October I was successful in getting the
government agency responsible for disposing of excess military and
government equipment to re-examine various pieces of equipment regarding
its' disposition. Up until that time the general policy was to
"demilitarize" radio and electronic equipment by smashing it
with a sledge hammer or otherwise shredding it into scrap metal.<br>
<br>
Fortunately I was able to get to some people who are in a position to
re-evaluate each piece and to change the DEMIL Coding on each item to
DEMIL CODE A (No DEMIL Required). Initially I had submitted the
National Stock Numbers (NSNs) for the Collins KWM-2A/30L-1 station known
as the FRC-93 and the R-390 and R-390A receivers. Last October I
received an official letter from the DRMS that these items had
successfully been reclassified as DEMIL Coding A. This letter is
posted on the AM WINDOW Web site and is available for viewing.<br>

<br>
</a>Not one to let such an excellent opportunity pass I decided to set up
a special DEMIL task force to research the NSNs of other equipment and
submit these to the DRMS for re-examination. Last November I sent
then such a list of items. Recently I received a message from my
contact stating that several have been successfully reclassified and the
remainder are still in the works.<br>

Here is the text of the latest list of equipment that has been recently
reclassified:<br>

In the interim, pending review by the Item Managers, we are advising our
Defense Reutilization and Marketing Offices to manage these items as
DEMIL A (no DEMIL required).<br>
<br>
It's easy to determine if any of these items have been reported to any of
the disposal offices for processing. Access the DRMS web site:<br>

On the home page, you'll see a selection marked "I Am a Private Company or Individual". Click on this selection. <br>
<br>
Click on Property Search (far left and five search methods will be shown). There are some restrictions on searching sensitive items but none of the foregoing stock numbers meet that criterion.<br>
<br>
Best search method is the first one on the list SEARCH DRMO SITE. The FSC is the first four digits of the NSN and the NIIN is the remaining 9 digits.<br>
<br>
The web site provides information about property currently being offered for sale. It is open to the public.<br>
