[cisco-nas] Ascend Pipline 75 vs Cisco AS5200 MPP performance problem

According to my notes, Ascend "MPP" mode is some nonstandard
Ascend proprietary thing which IOS doesn't support.

So use standard Multilink PPP (which Ascend evidently calls "MP")
and use BACP (BAP) to control the channels coming up, going down.

Here are some old notes:

I finally got BACP up between the P-50 (5.1aP9) and an IOS (11.3)router.

The things that were missing were:

  Ascend P-50.

Must give it it's own MAC address as a name, so we can bundle
    things properly

Set ENCAPS=MP (Don't ask, some Ascend Proprietary thingy)

YOu need to set BACP=YES in 2 spots. One under the
    Ethernet -> Answer -> PPP options ->  BACP=YES
  And
    Ethernet -> Connections -> [router name] -> Encaps Options -> BACP=Yes

  On the IOS:

  ppp multilink bap
  ppp bap call accept
  ppp bap call timer 2
  ppp bap drop timer 2
I had to set this, to stop the following type of LCP debugs to show up.
Apparently we don't wait long enough by default...

  Vi1 BACP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 8 len 10
  Vi1 BACP: FavoredPeer 0x65720125 (0x010665720125)
  Vi1 BACP: I TERMACK [REQsent] id 8 len 4
  Vi1 BACP: TIMEout: Time = 0x501DF8C State = REQsent
  Vi1 BACP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 9 len 10
  Vi1 BACP: FavoredPeer 0x65720125 (0x010665720125)
  Vi1 BACP: I TERMACK [REQsent] id 9 len 4
  Vi1 BACP: TIMEout: Time = 0x501E7AC State = REQsent
  Vi1 BACP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 10 len 10
  Vi1 BACP: FavoredPeer 0x65720125 (0x010665720125)
  Vi1 BACP: I TERMACK [REQsent] id 10 len 4
  Vi1 BACP: TIMEout: Time = 0x501EFCC State = REQsent
  Vi1 BACP: O CONFREQ [REQsent] id 11 len 10
  Vi1 BACP: FavoredPeer 0x65720125 (0x010665720125)
  Vi1 BACP: I TERMACK [REQsent] id 11 len 4
  Vi1 BACP: TIMEout: Time = 0x501F7A8 State = REQsent
  Vi1 BACP: State is Listen

  ppp bap callback accept
