The new 3750 can do BGP, however, and it's price point is only marginally
above the 3550...

No, there's only no *native* IOS.

The 3550 can't do BGP.  See the archives.

Can it hold a full routing table?  I recall it not being able to be one of
the differences between the 4000 and 6000 Series Catalysts.
