Neither.

The 5500 backplane has some 3.6 Gbit (all 3 backplanes together), and the
L3 engines (RSM/RSFC) are spec'ed for some 200 Mbit (RSM) or 400 Mbit (RSFC)
throughput each.

The 5500 is a good and very solid switch, but "raw performance"-wise its
age is showing.
