We have a 6509 that was running hybrid up until a couple months ago.
Ours has 2 sup1a/pcf/msfc2.
>>>I just read somewhere that Hybrid solution is no more developped. Is
is true ?
I think it depends on what you want to do. Somethings only work in one
or the other. Cisco is trying to get both to do the same things. (wait
and see).
>>>What about the bugs ? Does Hybrid solution work work fine ?
I can't remember us having any bugs to speak of. I didn't mind hybrid
but my supervisor liked the idea of one config and all native IOS
commands. There were also things we wanted to do that hybrid didn't do
yet.
>>>Does it make sense to have 2xsup with native ios?
Yes, It's still layer 2 redundancy.
>>>I read somewhere HSRP is the only solution to have highavailability
with ios and it does not work very well? Any experiance ?
When we upgraded to Native
redundancy
main-cpu
auto-sync standard
Was installed.
The problem with both native and hybrid that we have seen is that layer
2 fails over quickly but with our serial cards it takes 30-40 seconds to
come back up and build the routing tables.
