[nsp] 12.0(23)S and SNMP ?

I have seen similar behavior with linux boxes running Net-SNMP. The
requests were being accepted, but the replies were sourced from an
interface IP instead of the loopback. Very annoying.

Yes

Ok, I confirm that this same behaviour is present on a cisco 7513 with
12.0(23)S:

pieffe at paperino:~ $ snmpwalk -v 2c -c my-comm ip-addr-of-an-interface
system
SNMPv2-MIB::sysDescr.0 = STRING: Cisco Internetwork Operating System

IOS (tm) RSP Software (RSP-PV-M), Version 12.0(23)S, EARLY DEPLOYMENT
RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1) TAC Support: http://www.cisco.com/tac Copyright

SNMPv2-MIB::sysObjectID.0 = OID: SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.9.1.291
SNMPv2-MIB::sysUpTime.0 = Timeticks: (188680328) 21 days, 20:06:43.28
SNMPv2-MIB::sysContact.0 = STRING: tech at seabone.net
SNMPv2-MIB::sysName.0 = STRING: R_7513A-BR_BRU04.bru.seabone.net
SNMPv2-MIB::sysLocation.0 = STRING: Bruxelles SNMPv2-MIB::sysServices.0
= INTEGER: 6 SNMPv2-MIB::sysORLastChange.0 = Timeticks: (0) 0:00:00.00

pieffe at paperino:~ $ snmpwalk -v 2c -c my-comm loopback-addr system
Timeout: No Response from bru4

Using the suggested workaround is obviously bullshit... every monitoring
software would be confused and think it is a new machine.
