Hello everyone,
a few days ago we upgraded IOS on 7206VXR/NSE-1 from 12.2(7a) to
12.2(14)S -- 12.2(7a) had a terrible bug with NetFlow, and the reason we
chose 12.2(14)S was that another 7206VXR with NPE-300 run 12.0S without any
problems (12.0S does not support NSE-1, 12.2S does).
NetFlow is working fine now, but something is not going right with SNMP :
There is a Serial PPP interface configured on abovementioned 7206VXR, that
is running OK :
Router#sh int ser4/7:0
Serial4/7:0 is up, line protocol is up
5 minute input rate 3000 bits/sec, 6 packets/sec
5 minute output rate 34000 bits/sec, 6 packets/sec
Let's now snmpwalk into router to get status of Se4/7:0 interface :
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifDescr.X = "Serial4/7:0"
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifAdminStatus.X = up(1)
interfaces.ifTable.ifEntry.ifOperStatus.X = 6
ifOperStatus.X = 6 --- should be up(1), why 6 ?
ftp://ftp.cisco.com/pub/mibs/v2/IF-MIB.my states :
ifOperStatus OBJECT-TYPE
<skip>
notPresent(6), -- some component is missing
<skip>
it should remain in the notPresent(6) state if the interface has missing
(typically, hardware) components."
But as we have seen before, interface is up and working !
Has anyone seen anything like that ? Is that a bug or a feature ? :-)
