[nsp] Changing "bgp router-id x.x.x.x", violent or not ?

My "BGP router identifier x.x.x.x" uses a lookback interface IP for x.x.x.x.
I would like to tack this down with
a "bgp router-id x.x.x.x" statement in my "bgp router xxxx" statement, to an
IP
more meanful. Will this cause a total flush of my BGP table
or will it just cause a minor change, like a soft bgp clear ?
