They do approx +3 to +6 output power and have overload of -3 on the input, 
with a receiver sensitivity of at least -29dB.

(This is from the Finisar FTR1619-55 specs that I believe Cisco uses).

I would suggest having at least 10dB dampening on the fiber to make 
sure you're not getting overload.
