If your IOS doesn't support the 'verify /md5' command yet, after uploading it 
to the router, you could also TFTP the image *back* to the TFTP server and 
run the Unix 'md5' command on it there. 

The chances of a corruption being exactly reversed on the way back to the TFTP 
server should be pretty slim...
