Hopefully 12.2(17)SX will support SUPII/MSFC2 and I can skip 12.1(19)E2
altogether. I believe that's also the first release which will support the
VPN modules as well as the other service modules.

Sup1/Sup1a/Sup2:
(??)09/03 - SupIOS 12.1(19)E2 adds support for 6148-GE-TX and 6548-GE-TX
(??)12/03 - SupIOS 12.1(19)E3 adds support for 6516a

Sup720:
now - SupIOS 12.2(14)SX-1 - all pre-03/31/03 hardware, including FWSM, NAM,
IDS, CSM
(??)09/03 - SupIOS 12.2(17)SX - adds 6148-GE-TX, 6724-GE-SFP, 6704-Xenpak,
6748-GE-TX

Maybe they will update 12.2(14)SX between now and September, but I don't
think
Cisco plans to add any additional hardware support. All the hardware
support is
going into CatOS first, but Hybrid will never get the big software
features.... ;<

If you want new features (IPv6, ERSPAN, SSHv2, etc) it looks like you will
have to
be on the 12.2S/SX trains... however 12.2(17)SX only adds IPv6 and SSHv2,
and the
next release (??) Jan/Feb 2004 - 12.2(17)SX-1 (??) will support ERSPAN and
new MPLS
features promised.
