Is there any way on Cisco switches (6509s/2950s in
particular) to get the total number of packets
switched by the switch?  Looking at the port counters
gives this information per-port but I'm wondering if
there's a command or SNMP OID to get the total.

If not, why?  ;-)  I can't be the only one who thinks
this would be a helpful thing to be able to monitor.
