The price Cisco charges for their REMAN gear normally exceeds the cost of
doing a recert and buying traditional "Gray market" gear.  And from my
experience if you're buying the service from them anyway, Cisco rarely
raises a stink about recert...depends on the CAM.

My suggestion would be to purchase an annual service contract on the
chassis, and then you're covered.  This generally covers all parts in the
chassis, excluding large ticket items such as GSR and OSM linecards, which
have seperate service contracts.

You can get service contracts on Cisco gear through Cisco as long as they
are recertified (which costs extra).  You can also buy used gear directly
from cisco (they call it "reman").  The benefit from buying refurbs directly
from cisco, it's already certified.

So theoretically, you can buy used linecards for your 7206vxr used, and have
them replaced under warranty assuming you have a service contract for the
7206.
