Put the interface in here, as in:

ip route 192.168.68.1 255.255.255.0 faste0/0 172.16.87.50

that way the route will disappear if the interface goes down.

Won't help against a broken switch (that still has a link beat but
doesn't forward packets anymore).  The *real* way to do it is to have
the PIX(s) announce the routes behind it by some dynamic routing
protocol.
