Dan, as suggested, see what errors are increasing in 'sh int fa0/5' 
output.

Usually it'll be CRC errors, and as often as not that'll be triggered by 
a duplex mismatch between Fa0/5 and the device at the far end.  Confirm 
that you have speed and duplex set similarly at each end.
