Greetings List,

We would like to run CAR over Fast EtherChannel but the release notes for
IOS 12.2 say no to that.

Does anyone know if you can configure CAR not on the PortChannel Virtual
Interface itself but on each separate physical interface and set the rates
appropriately.

Like we have 3 FE ports in one Fast EtherChannel. 150 Meabits/sec aggregate
available. We want to rate-limit ICMP to 1 meg per second and SYNs to like
130 megs/second. Can we set up 33.3% of the rate limit on each physical
interface and have this work?

Also, i read on the TAC website that you need a VIP2-50 to run at line rate
for speed up to OC3. We have VIP2-50's in our 7500's with 128 Meg of DRAM
on the VIP2-50's. What is the fastest we can go when running CAR with just
ICMP and SYN rate-limiting per VIP? Can we do 200 Megs/second on 1 VIP2-50
with two FE PAs?

thanks for any input!

regards,
jg
