[nsp] Query on MRTG

we have around 8000 cable modem clients which are increasing
we are making traffic graph through mrtg
but mrtg is take lot of system resources

aslo using scotty any scotty like improve tool to make network diagram base
monitoring ??

which tool you guys suggest ??
