Yes. The PA-2FE was in Bay 1, while a PA-8E1 was in Bay 0.

Oh. While I *did* search for caveats, I overlooked this specific issue.
That could very well be the problem.

I think that's something different (our box initializes the VIP2 just
fine, and the crash will only happen when a number of packets has
traversed through "port 1" on the PA - "port 0" works fine). Also, this
DDTS is fixed in 12.0(16.5)S/ST, so I'd expect the fix in to be in
12.0(26)S1 as well :-)
Maybe something with memory layout, "I/O memory" (if the VIP2 has a
comparable concept) or something like this.
