I would think that a 7301 is very different from the 7304.
7301 is essentially a NPE-G1 in a 1U form factor.

7301 is using broadcom sibyte BCM1250, which explain
why the 3 port GE is pretty fast. Unfortunately,
IOS doesn't make use of the second core in the BCM1250.
