If I remenber correctly the counters are 2^32 which gives a maz value of
4294967264
packet counters are seperate and therefore did not wrap.

ciao

Subject: [nsp] Broken counters

Hello list,

it seems that I am encountering the counters problem that everybody is
complaining about.

System is a 2621 running "IOS (tm) C2600 Software (C2600-JS-M), Version
12.2(19a), RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc2)"

Yesterday:
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 23:56:18
     5115591 packets input, 4 143 259 527 bytes, 0 no buffer
     4989931 packets output, 3 165 019 768 bytes, 0 underruns

Today:
Last clearing of "show interface" counters 1d23h
     13261396 packets input, 1 387 159 185 bytes, 0 no buffer
     12296562 packets output, 1 349 576 176 bytes, 0 underruns

So we went from 3/4 GB back to 1.3 GB... I imagine (and hope) that the
counters simply wrapped, and that it's not an totally incontrolled bug.

The issue is that the customer wanted me to check his traffic and give him a
correct total amount on a period of 3 days.

Can somebody enlighten me on this? Did the counters simply wrap? If yes, at
what value? Can I add this value to the present figure to obtain a correct
figure (assuming the counters didn't wrap twice)?

Odd thing is that the packet counters did not wrap?...

Thanks in advance,

Vincent
