Sorry, I was definitely not trying to start a J vs C flamewar.. In
fact I am not the Juniper zealot that alot of others here are.. I
do like them and think they do many things well, but I am pretty
happy with a lot of Cisco products.
I was just pointing out the other side of Deepak's 7600 vs Juniper
comment. I am NOT a fan of the 7600 or 6500 architecture. And I
really think it is just another box that I can put a huge amount of
ports that I cannot ROUTE/L3 switch at full line-rate in, so port
density means little. However I do agree that it is just a matter
of engineering your network, and using the correct equipment for
the job. There are plenty of places that people can put a box with
100 10% utilized ports, or you can put 10 ports in the box and use
it full-speed.
