CGMP as a router, or CGMP as a switch?

I know about CGMP-as-a-router (so the 3550 is the L3 device, that's
telling *other* L2 devices where to send multicast packets to), but to my
knowledge, CGMP-as-a-switch (the 3550 listens to a separate L3 router) is
not supported.

*If* it is, I stand corrected, and apologize...
