Hello Pete,

We have sold about 10 of these cards over the last six months and having checked our system we haven't got any incidents logged relating to technical problems with these cards. I think you may have been unlucky, or as you suggested that perhaps some third party (non- approved) has been put on the cards. However our cards have all been refurbished and been in a production network previously.

Regards Martin.

Subject: [c-nsp] 4GE-SFP-LC (4-Port ISE GigE) Failure rate

Since I deployed 18 GSRs with the 4-port ISE GigE line-card
about 4 months ago, I've had 3 line-cards go bad, each for
something different (all hardware-related, usually something
related to bad memory).

None of these were DOA, they all worked for at least a few
weeks and started having component problems later.

Is this an anomoly? Should I be planning on one LC failure
per month? What experience have others had with this
line-card and hardware failures? Any recommendations?

Thanks.
Pete.
