Its possible to do this, but pay careful attention to how its provisioned. I
have
seen some Telco's provision a protected circuit on both ends and then just
loop up the protect side on the unprotected end to get rid of the alarms.
This is really
brain-dead because if the SONET ADM switches to the protect interface that
is looped,
the entire circuit will get looped.
