You may "nail" up your ip address to your mac
address (static ARP) using:
arp w.x.y.z h.h.h ARPA
where w.x.y.z IP address h.h.h 48-bit MAC(hrdware_addr)
and ARPA is the ARP type.
This method secures your IP address, too. Anybdy without
having your mac_addr cannot use your IP address (as in the
case of reserved-DHCP address pool.)
