[c-nsp] Trying to configure trunk breaks connectivity

Sorry,  missed   that you issued the 'rcom' command

you have to have a diverse path to the switch be it via com port or 
alternate path as have the trunk on only one side break connectivity ..

you may wish to try  configuring the far end first ..  and hoping you 
have the config changes right ....
