To the best of my knowledge, unlike the MSFC1, the MSFC2 and MSFC3
(SUP720) do not have a hard limit of SVI's.
In my experience, and through recommendations, I would not put more than
750 or so on a production MSFC2, but I haven't tried pushing the limit
on an MSFC3.
MSFC1 has a hard set limit if 256 I believe.
Also, you'll make your TCAM much happier if you route IPs through SVIs,
versus tagging them secondary.

| How many "interface vlan xxx" (routet vlans) does a 6500 with sup-720
| support, I can't find I at cisco.com.
|
| Also does anyone know if the sup-720 will ever support PPPoE ?
