[c-nsp] Sniffer Recommendations Wanted

Would a high end laptop running Linux and Ethereal work?  The GigE 
optical would be tough on a laptop.  Maybe a mid tower with big 
processor, memory and drive.  You could do it all for $1-2k easily.   
Ethereal is a great packet analyzer.
